There is a lot to hear here and unsurprisingly it's a mixed bag, but Passing Strange's stunning arrangement of "Tourniquet" blows me away. They make it sound like it was ALWAYS a piano ballad, and their contribution was to rock it up with lively drums. summer villain
who doesn't love a band committed to punk, poetry, and artistic purity? this is a more confidently patient release than Symmetry, but the riffs are no less monstrous and the textures deepen the space the songs inhabit. the lyrics have no fat to them, but still manage to be thought provoking, impressionistic, and emotional. always a pleasure :)
